Modern Warfare 2 class creator?
Lately I’ve noticed a lot of Google searches hitting my blog have been via the keywords “modern warfare 2 class creator”. For obvious reasons, those searches end up at the 4e Power Toolkit, formerly known as the 4e Class Creator.
I haven’t played Modern Warfare 2 yet, but is a class creator something people are desperate for? I’d be happy to investigate building one… though I get the impression people are looking for info on the class designer in the game, rather than an external planning tool. But I can’t be completely sure.
Drop a comment if you have some input, I’d love to hear from you.
i think they might be wanting to know what sort of weapons you get, the perks, etc, etc.

@murray: That’s the impression I’m getting. Thanks for the clarification! :)

I hit this blog in the same way, too.
I dont think so. I think what people are looking for is a tool to play around with loadouts and look at equipment setups, more than actually see stats. The game lets you save five classes but in reality there are so many more you want to use, that having something to save them all in would be great :)
PS. Nice 4e toolset, downloaded!

I’m DEFINATELY interested in a planning tool for custom MW2 classes. I’m the kind of guy that likes to plan things in detail and make sure I’ve got all my bases covered, so to speak, so an external tool for trying different combinations of weapons, perks etc would be a godsend for me ;)

I’ve recently acquired a copy of MW2, and I’m looking to code an AJAX-powered class creator. If anyone has suggestions on what they’d like to see in terms of features, I’m all ears (or eyes).

I’d love to see damage over different ranges with different attachments (scope, holographic, silencer ETC), runspeed with perks and weapons, DPS for different loadouts… Pretty much everything that has a gameplay value really haha. I know it might be alot to ask but if you need some data sources I can possibly point you in the right direction!

I would also love this for pretty much all the reasons listed above! “damage over different ranges with different attachments (scope, holographic, silencer ETC), runspeed with perks and weapons, DPS for different loadouts…” also being able to save more than 5 classes and plan out different loadout (whilst at work >.>) That would be awesome!
I really hope you make this :)

Any news regarding if you are going to proceed with this Logan?

@special-k: I’m keen to do it, it’s really just a time management thing. Between work, Zafehouse 2 and the 4e Power Toolkit, it’s hard to squeeze in some love for an AJAX-powered and feature-packed class creator for MW2.
I’d hate to miss the boat on something like this, so I’ll dedicate the next week or so to investigating the scope of such a tool, and let you know if I’m going to go ahead with it.
