CrawlNotes TV

Role-playing blog At-Will has posted a video that steps through the plunderable depths of CrawlNotes. It’s like watching a usability test, which is always an incredibly useful thing as it usually translates into less bad products.

Thankfully, Quinn was handing out props for the most part, which fills me with happy. He puts forward a couple of great suggestions that I’ll look to implement in the next version – specifically the maximise function, better corridors, HTML support for the text boxes and a print button. A suggestion from the CrawlNotes forum – a room-linking function so the app can be used to build dungeon flowcharts – will also get some attention.

  1. just wanted to let you know that i really dig your apps, crawlnotes included. as a programmer/dm i have toyed with the idea of creating some apps to help me as a dm. kudos!

are you open to sharing the source code or to collaboration? i dont have much time but i wouldn’t mind checking things out on my hour long commute into work.

  2. After watching the v-blog on At Will, a feature that occurred to me that wasn’t discussed was multiple levels, and tying them together by some means (stairwells, mine shafts, etc.)

Ideally, you would see the other levels faded out in the BG/overlay and could switch between.

Still, I’m looking forward to using this. Keep up the good work!
